CVSS 3.1 Score 6.1 of 10 (medium)
Details
Summary
CVE-2025-26619 affects Vega, a visualization grammar used in versions 5.30.0 and lower of the Vega library and 5.15.0 and lower of vega-functions. This vulnerability allowed the execution of unsupported JavaScript functions in the Vega expression language, posing a security risk. The issue has been resolved in `vega` 5.31.0 and `vega-functions` 5.16.0. Users can mitigate the risk by running Vega without the `vega.expressionInterpreter`, although this is slower, or by implementing Content Security Policy (CSP) safe mode, which prevents arbitrary JavaScript execution.
