Summary

CVE-2025-24016 is a remote code execution vulnerability affecting Wazuh, an open-source cybersecurity platform. Starting from version 4.4.0 and before 4.9.1, this vulnerability arises due to an unsafe deserialization issue in the DistributedAPI. Attackers can inject unsanitized dictionaries in DAPI requests or responses, leading to the forging of an unhandled exception `__unhandled_exc__` and subsequent execution of arbitrary Python code. This vulnerability can be exploited by anyone with API access, either from compromised dashboards or Wazuh servers in the cluster. Version 4.9.1 includes a patch to mitigate this issue.
