Summary
CVE-2024-9386 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Exclusive Divi – Divi Preloader, Modules for Divi & Extra Theme plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 1.4, allows authenticated attackers with Author-level access or higher to upload malicious SVG files. The plugin fails to sufficiently sanitize and escape input, enabling attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts that will execute whenever a user accesses the infected SVG file. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unintended website functionality or data theft. It is crucial that users upgrade to the latest version of the plugin to mitigate this risk.
