Summary

CVE-2024-5684 is a vulnerability in a JWT-library implementation that allows an attacker with network access to the private network or local access to the Ethernet interface to bypass password authentication for the web configuration interface. Although they won't gain developer or admin rights, they can still access the interface in full. This vulnerability arises when the JWT-library is incorrectly configured to accept none-algorithms, enabling unauthenticated, local attackers to exploit it and bypass the authentication mechanism.
