Summary

CVE-2024-5612 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the Essential Addons for Elementor Pro plugin used on WordPress websites. ThisStored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue, occurring in the Lightbox & Modal widget's 'eael_lightbox_open_btn_icon' parameter, allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious web scripts. These scripts will execute whenever an unsuspecting user accesses an affected page, posing a significant security risk. Versions of the plugin up to and including 5.8.15 are vulnerable to this exploit, which stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping.
