CVE-2024-5571 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the EmbedPress plugin for WordPress, specifically versions up to and including 4.0.1. This issue arises due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the plugin's EmbedPress PDF widget. Authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can exploit this vulnerability by injecting arbitrary web scripts into pages. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page, posing a significant security risk.
