Summary

CVE-2024-5536 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the GamiPress – Link plugin for WordPress. The issue, present in all versions up to 1.1.4, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the gamipress_link shortcode. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts, which will be executed whenever a user accesses an injected page, posing a significant security risk.
