Summary

CVE-2024-5501 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Supreme Modules Lite – Divi Theme, Extra Theme, and Divi Builder plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to and including 2.5.51, allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts via the 'button_one_id' parameter. The insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the plugin make it easy for attackers to execute arbitrary web scripts whenever a user accesses an injected page. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to WordPress sites using the affected plugin and could lead to data theft, unauthorized access, or other malicious activities. Users are strongly advised to update to the latest version of the plugin to mitigate this risk.
