Summary

CVE-2024-5218 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Reviews and Rating – Google Reviews plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 5.2, allows authenticated attackers with Author-level access or higher to exploit the plugin's file upload feature. The flaw lies in insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, enabling attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts. Upon accessing an injected page, these scripts will execute, potentially leading to unintended actions or data exposure for unsuspecting users.
