CVE-2024-5141

Summary

CVE-2024-5141 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Rotating Tweets plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 1.9.10, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. As a result, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject malicious web scripts that execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This poses a significant security risk, as it could lead to unauthorized data access or manipulation, as well as potential site defacement or account takeover.
