Summary

CVE-2024-5088 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Happy Addons for Elementor plugin used in WordPress websites. This issue, present in all versions up to 3.10.8, allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts via the '_id' parameter. These scripts will be executed whenever an end user accesses an affected page, potentially leading to unintended actions or data theft. The root cause is insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, which has left the plugin open to exploitation.
