Summary

CVE-2024-4984 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Yoast SEO plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions 22.6 and below, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts into the 'display_name' author meta field. These scripts will be executed whenever a user accesses an injected page, posing a significant security risk. The root cause of this vulnerability lies in insufficient input sanitization and output escaping.
