Summary

CVE-2024-4844 is a hardcoded credentials vulnerability affecting Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) on-premise versions prior to 5.10 Service Pack 1 Update 2. This issue grants admin privileged attackers access to the ePO database encryption key, by enabling them to read the contents of the orion.keystore file. The vulnerability arises due to a hardcoded password for the keystore. However, the access control restrictions on the file limit the exploitability, making it only feasible for system administrators of the affected ePO server.
