Summary

CVE-2024-4838 is a vulnerability affecting the ConvertPlus plugin for WordPress. In versions up to 3.5.26, the plugin is susceptible to PHP Object Injection through deserialization of untrusted input from the 'settings_encoded' attribute of the 'smile_modal' shortcode. This issue grants authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above the ability to inject PHP Objects. No Pop chain is present in the ConvertPlus plugin itself; however, if a Pop chain exists via an additional plugin or theme, attackers could delete files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code.
