Summary
CVE-2024-4436 is a new vulnerability affecting the etcd package in Red Hat OpenStack. Despite a previous fix for CVE-2022-41723, this issue persists due to the package's use of an outdated http2 library. Instead of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux version, the etcd package in Red Hat OpenStack relies on the one from golang.org. As a result, it is essential to update the etcd package at compile time to address this vulnerability effectively.
