Summary

CVE-2024-40605 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability that affects the Foreground skin of MediaWiki versions up to 1.42.1. An attacker can inject malicious scripts into MediaWiki:Sidebar top-level menu entries, allowing them to execute arbitrary code in the context of affected users when they view the page.
