Summary
CVE-2024-38120 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting the Windows Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS). This issue permits an unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code on the targeted system through specially crafted RRAS packets. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to a complete system compromise. Organizations are strongly urged to apply the forthcoming Microsoft patch as soon as it becomes available to mitigate this threat. Until then, it is recommended to restrict access to RRAS services to trusted networks and implement intrusion detection systems to monitor and block potential attacks.
