Summary

CVE-2024-3494 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Mesmerize Companion plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to 1.6.148, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the 'mesmerize_contact_form' shortcode. Consequently, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject malicious web scripts, which will run whenever an affected page is accessed, posing a significant security risk.
