Summary

CVE-2024-34342 is a vulnerability affecting the react-pdf library used in React applications for displaying PDFs. If a malicious PDF is loaded using PDF.js, the default configuration with `isEvalSupported` set to `true` will allow unrestricted attacker-controlled JavaScript execution in the context of the hosting domain. This issue can lead to serious security risks, including code injection and data theft. The vulnerability is addressed in versions 7.7.3 and 8.0.2 of react-pdf. It is recommended that users update their libraries to the latest versions to mitigate this risk.
