Summary

CVE-2024-31859 is a vulnerability affecting Mattermost versions 9.5.x up to 9.5.3, 9.6.x up to 9.6.1, and 8.1.x up to 8.1.12. This issue arises due to insufficient authorization checks in the platform. A member with existing access to a channel can execute a playbook, exploiting this flaw to promote themselves to an admin role within the channel.
