CVE-2024-31443 affects the Cacti network monitoring tool, impacting versions prior to 1.2.27. The vulnerability lies within the `form_save()` function in `data_queries.php`, where data is not sufficiently checked before being concatenated into an HTML statement in `grow_right_pane_tree()` from `lib/html.php`. This results in a cross-site scripting (XSS) issue, allowing attackers to inject malicious code into web pages viewed by other users. Version 1.2.27 includes a patch to mitigate this vulnerability.
