Summary

CVE-2024-3128 is a vulnerability affecting the Replify-Messenger 1.0 app on Android. The issue lies in the processing of the androidmanifest.xml file for the Backup File Handler component. An attacker can manipulate this process to gain unauthorized control over backup files, potentially exposing sensitive data. This vulnerability has been disclosed to the public and could be exploited on physical devices. The identifier VDB-258869 was assigned to this issue. Importantly, this vulnerability only affects unsupported versions of the app, and the vendor has confirmed they no longer intend to maintain it, eventually revoking its availability in the Google Play Store.
