Summary

CVE-2024-31091 is a Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Custom Field Bulk Editor product of SparkWeb Interactive, Inc. The issue stems from improper neutralization of user input during web page generation. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to inject malicious scripts into a targeted website, potentially stealing sensitive user data or taking control of user sessions. This issue affects Custom Field Bulk Editor versions from n/a through 1.9.1. To mitigate this risk, it is recommended that users immediately update their Custom Field Bulk Editor installations to the latest available version, which includes the necessary security patches. Additionally, implementing Content Security Policy (CSP) headers and regularly monitoring and filtering user-generated content can help prevent XSS attacks.
