Summary

CVE-2024-2993 is a newly disclosed critical vulnerability that affects the Tenda FH1203 2.0.1.6 router. The issue lies in the function formQuickIndex of the /goform/QuickIndex file. An attacker can manipulate the PPPOEPassword argument to trigger a stack-based buffer overflow, enabling remote code execution. The vulnerability, identified as VDB-258162, has been publicly disclosed and exploit code is available, making it a significant security concern for users of the affected device. Despite early notification, the vendor has yet to respond.
