Summary

CVE-2024-29882 is a vulnerability affecting the SRS (Simple Real-Time Streaming Server). The issue lies in the `/api/v1/vhosts/vid-<id>?callback=<payload>` endpoint, which failed to filter callback function names. Malicious actors could exploit this vulnerability by injecting malicious JavaScript payloads, leading to Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks. The impact of these attacks includes data theft and unauthorized system access. Users are advised to upgrade to SRS versions 5.0.210 and 6.0.121 to mitigate this risk.
