Summary

CVE-2024-29808 is a Cross Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the image_id parameter of the editimage_bwg action in admin-ajax.php. An attacker can exploit this issue by injecting arbitrary JavaScript code into responses where the image_id parameter is embedded within an existing JavaScript context. Successful exploitation requires the attacker to target an authenticated user with permissions to access this component. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, allowing attackers to steal sensitive information, perform actions on behalf of the user, or install malware. It is advised that affected systems be updated as soon as possible to mitigate this threat.
