Summary

CVE-2024-2979 is a recently disclosed critical vulnerability affecting the Tenda F1203 2.0.1.6 router. The issue lies in the setSchedWifi function of the /goform/openSchedWifi file, which can be exploited through manipulation of the schedStartTime and schedEndTime arguments. This manipulation results in a stack-based buffer overflow, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The exploit for this vulnerability has been made public, increasing the risk for potential attacks. Despite early notification, the vendor has not responded to the disclosure.
