Summary

CVE-2024-2948 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Favorites plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 2.3.3, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts via the 'user_favorites' shortcode's 'no_favorites' attribute. The insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied data in this plugin lead to the execution of these scripts whenever an injected page is accessed by users.
