Summary
CVE-2024-2947 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the Cockpit web interface. This flaw allows an attacker to delete a crafted sosreport file and inject malicious commands, resulting in privilege escalation. Affected versions of Cockpit include those numbered 270 and later. By manipulating the name of a sosreport file, an adversary can exploit this command injection vulnerability and potentially gain elevated access to the system.
