Summary

CVE-2024-29215 is a vulnerability affecting various versions of Mattermost, including 9.5.x up to 9.5.3, 9.7.x up to 9.7.1, 9.6.x up to 9.6.1, and 8.1.x up to 8.1.12. In these versions, access control measures are bypassed, allowing users to execute slash commands in channels they are not authorized to access. This is accomplished through linking a playbook run to a channel and using a slash command as a playbook task command. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to organizations using Mattermost, as it can potentially lead to unauthorized access and data breaches.
