Summary
CVE-2024-28834 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting GnuTLS. This issue is classified as a cryptographic vulnerability, specifically the Minerva attack. This attack exploits deterministic behavior in systems like GnuTLS, leading to side-channel leaks. In certain conditions, such as when using the GNUTLS_PRIVKEY_FLAG_REPRODUCIBLE flag, the vulnerability can cause a significant change in nonce size from 513 to 512 bits, potentially exposing a timing side-channel.
