Summary

CVE-2024-2854 is a newly disclosed critical vulnerability affecting Tenda AC18 devices running firmware version 15.03.05.05. The issue lies within the formSetSambaConf function of the setsambacfg file, where the usbName argument can be manipulated to initiate os command injection. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, allowing an attacker to execute malicious commands on the affected device. The exploit for this vulnerability (VDB-257778) has been made public, increasing the risk for potential attacks. Unfortunately, the vendor was not responsive to early disclosures about this vulnerability.
