Summary

CVE-2024-28255 is a vulnerability affecting OpenMetadata, a platform for metadata management and observability. The issue lies in the `JwtFilter`, which handles authentication by checking request paths against a list of excluded endpoints. However, an attacker can manipulate path parameters to exploit this vulnerability and bypass JWT validation, gaining unauthorized access to any endpoint. This includes endpoints with potential SpEL expression injection risks. This vulnerability, which may result in authentication bypass, has been addressed in version 1.2.4. Users are strongly advised to upgrade without delay, as there are currently no known workarounds for this issue. (GHSL-2023-237)
