Summary

CVE-2024-28242 is a vulnerability affecting Discourse, an open-source community discussion platform. In certain versions of the software, an attacker can infer the existence of secret categories by observing background images. This issue has been addressed in the latest stable, beta, and tests-passed versions of Discourse. It is strongly recommended that users upgrade to the patched version to mitigate this risk. Alternatively, those unable to upgrade can temporarily disable category backgrounds as a workaround.
