Details
Summary
CVE-2024-28195 is a vulnerability affecting the open-source, self-hosted Spotify tracking dashboard, YourSpotify. Versions prior to 1.9.0 fail to secure the API and login flow against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks. Malicious actors can exploit this flaw to manipulate data on the affected YourSpotify instance, including retrieving, modifying, or deleting information. In extreme cases, they can even create a new user and promote that user to administrator if a legitimate administrator visits a specially crafted website. The risk of exploitation depends on the browser settings of the victim. Users are urged to upgrade to version 1.9.0 to mitigate this vulnerability, as no workarounds are available.
