Summary

CVE-2024-28120 is a vulnerability affecting the codeium-chrome extension for Chrome, which is an open source code completion plugin. The service worker within the extension fails to verify the sender of external messages, allowing an attacker to host a malicious website. This website can then steal the user's Codeium api-key, enabling the attacker to impersonate the user on the backend autocomplete server. This issue remains unaddressed, and users are advised to closely monitor their API key usage.
