Summary

CVE-2024-28118 is a vulnerability affecting the open-source Grav content management system. Prior to version 1.7.45, Grav allowed unrestricted access to Twig extension classes from the system context. An attacker could exploit this issue by redefining config variables, bypassing a previous Server Side Template Injection (SSTI) mitigation. Twig processing of static pages could be enabled by administrative users, allowing the Twig processor to run unsandboxed and potentially leading to arbitrary code execution and privilege escalation. The vulnerability was addressed in Grav version 1.7.45.
