Summary

CVE-2024-27929 is a recently discovered vulnerability affecting the ImageSharp library, a popular managed, cross-platform graphics library. This issue involves a heap-use-after-free flaw located in the InitializeImage() function of the PngDecoderCore.cs file. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by providing a specially crafted PNG image file to ImageSharp for conversion. Successful exploitation could lead to information disclosure. Users are advised to update to ImageSharp versions 3.1.3 and 2.1.7 to mitigate this risk.
