Summary

CVE-2024-27917 is a vulnerability affecting Shopware, an open commerce platform based on Symfony Framework and Vue. In versions prior to 6.5.8.7, the Symfony Session Handler in Shopware improperly handles Session Cookies on 404 error pages. Since these pages are cached, a Response containing a Session Cookie may be served to a user who has not yet sent any cookies in their request. This issue can lead to Session hijacking if exploited. As a temporary solution, using Redis for Sessions is recommended, as it bypasses the exploit code. A patch addressing this vulnerability is available in Shopware version 6.5.8.7.
