Summary

CVE-2024-27101 is a vulnerability affecting the open-source SpiceDB database, which is used for managing security-critical application permissions. The issue involves an integer overflow in the chunking helper, leading to missed elements or a panic state. This vulnerability can impact any SpiceDB cluster with a schema where a resource has over 65,535 relationships of the same type between that resource and a subject. The CheckPermission, BulkCheckPermission, and LookupSubjects API methods are susceptible to this problem. SpiceDB has released version 1.29.2 to address this vulnerability.
