Summary

CVE-2024-27100 is a vulnerability affecting the Discourse open-source community discussion platform. In affected versions, the endpoints for suspending users, silencing users, and exporting CSV files lacked proper size validation, leading to excessive resource consumption. This issue could potentially render an instance inoperable through malicious actions by a moderator on the same site or a staff member on another site within the same multisite cluster. Upgrading to the latest stable, beta, and tests-passed versions of Discourse is advised to mitigate this vulnerability as there are no known workarounds.
