Details
Summary
CVE-2024-27091 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting GeoNode, a geospatial content management system. The issue lies in the current rich text editor, which can be exploited to inject malicious scripts. An attacker can retrieve a victim's CSRF token and issue a request to alter another user's email address, resulting in a full account takeover. Although the application sets cookies securely, the script element is not affected by the CORS policy, allowing the malicious requests to succeed. This vulnerability has been addressed in GeoNode version 4.2.3.
