Summary

CVE-2024-2688 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the EmbedPress plugin for WordPress, specifically the document widget. The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization and escaping of user-supplied attributes in all versions up to 3.9.12. Attackers with contributor-level access or higher can exploit this flaw to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page, potentially leading to unintended actions, data theft, or further exploitation.
