Details
Summary
CVE-2024-26132 is a vulnerability affecting Element Android, an Android Matrix Client. Malicious applications installed on the same phone can force the app, versions 0.91.0 through 1.6.11, to share files stored in the `files` directory of its private data folder to an arbitrary room. Although the databases in this folder are encrypted, they may contain sensitive information like FCM tokens, increasing the risk of unauthorized access. Element Android 1.6.12 has since addressed this issue, and forks with `android:exported="false"` in their `AndroidManifest.xml` file for the `IncomingShareActivity` activity are not affected. There is currently no known workaround to mitigate the vulnerability.
