Summary
CVE-2024-25942 is a vulnerability affecting Dell PowerEdge Servers. The issue lies in the BIOS's improper communication buffer verification in the System Management Mode (SMM). A high privileged attacker with physical access to the server can potentially exploit this flaw, enabling arbitrary writes to SMRAM. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, and system administrators are advised to apply the forthcoming patch as soon as it becomes available.
