Summary

CVE-2024-25602 is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting Liferay Portal 7.2.0 to 7.4.2, and older unsupported versions, as well as Liferay DXP 7.3 before service pack 3, and older unsupported versions. This issue lies in the Users Admin module's edit user page. Malicious users with authentication can exploit this flaw by injecting arbitrary web scripts or HTML into an organization's "Name" text field, potentially leading to unintended execution of malicious code within the user's browser. This could result in session hijacking, data theft, or other security breaches.
