Summary

CVE-2024-25147 is a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting Liferay Portal versions 7.2.0 through 7.4.1, and older unsupported editions, as well as Liferay DXP versions 7.3 before service pack 3, 7.2 before fix pack 15, and older unsupported releases. This issue lies within HtmlUtil.escapeJsLink. An attacker can exploit this weakness by crafting malicious JavaScript: style links, allowing the injection of arbitrary web scripts or HTML into targeted users' sessions. Successful attacks may lead to data theft or unauthorized access. Users are advised to update their systems as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
