Summary

CVE-2024-25122 is a vulnerability affecting the open-source project sidekiq-unique-jobs. This project is designed to prevent parallel execution of Sidekiq jobs with identical arguments. Maliciously crafted GET requests to the "/changelogs", "/locks", or "/expiring_locks" endpoints of the sidekiq-unique-jobs admin UI can allow unauthorized users, including attackers and authorized victims, to execute malicious code. The potential consequences include theft of cookies, session data, or local storage data from the app where sidekiq-unique-jobs is mounted. Version 7.1.33 and 8.0.7 have addressed this issue, and users are strongly advised to upgrade. No known workarounds exist for this vulnerability.
