Summary
CVE-2024-25118 is a vulnerability affecting the TYPO3 content management system. The issue lies in the backend user interface where password hashes are being reflected during editing. This exposure enables attackers to employ brute force techniques to crack the plaintext password of a valid backend user account. It is crucial for users to update their systems to TYPO3 versions 8.7.57 ELTS, 9.5.46 ELTS, 10.4.43 ELTS, 11.5.35 LTS, 12.4.11 LTS, and 13.0.1 to mitigate this risk, as there are currently no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
