Summary

CVE-2024-24817: In the open-source discussion platform Discourse, prior to version 0.4, the Discourse Calendar feature allows anyone, even unauthenticated users, to retrieve event invitees from private categories or private messages (PMs) in topics. This vulnerability impacts the confidentiality of the invitee list information. The issue is resolved in version 0.4 of the discourse-calendar plugin, but there is no known workaround to protect against unauthorized access by anonymous users. Site administrators can restrict access by implementing `login_required` to limit usage to authenticated users. However, logged-in users can still access invitee lists in private topics.
